SIM Portland

For over 10 years the Portland Chapter of the Society for Information Management (SIM) has been the meeting place for information technology executives, leading IT consultants, academicians, and senior business executives who play key roles in the use of information technology in their organizations. Portland SIM offers a collaborative exploration of best practices, trends and lessons learned for those who shape and influence the management and use of information technology.

Why Paul Wogan, Director of IT at Organically Grown Company, joined SIM

Join Portland SIM, one of the largest and fastest growing chapters in SIM International, and collaborate with us in the management revolution that is changing the way the world communicates, educates, and conducts business. Membership in this chapter of an international organization puts you in the middle of a global community that is harnessing the power of knowledge, information, and technology. SIM International is an international organization for top information executives. It helps IT leaders develop their management techniques for the strategic use of information and computing technology. SIM has over 25 local chapters, and 3,500 members from more than 500 major organizations.

Portland SIM also gives back to the local community through our scholarship program. Since 2001, the chapter has sponsored an annual golf tournament to raise funds for charitable contributions. Beginning in 2004, we focused our charitable efforts on the young men and women seeking undergraduate college degrees in IT-related disciplines at local colleges and universities. In total, the chapter has donated more than $250,000 to deserving students in the hope that these students will become IT thought leaders in the future.

Portland SIM thrives because of the commitment of its members. Through a network of committees governed by a board elected from and by the chapter membership, the chapter provides networking, education, mentorship, and professional development to the regions information technology leaders.
