Please thank these members for their service to the Chapter!

Managing "Big Data"

Join us on May 9th for our last program of the 2011-12 season as we hear from Doug Harr, CIO at Splunk, talk about how to engage with our business partners and extract the untapped value from the "Big Data" running through our organizations. Register today by clicking here.

We Asked for Your Support . . . And You Responded!

In partnership with the Business Education Complact, 27 SIM-PDX representatives teamed with our scholarship recipients and other students from OSU, OIT, UofP, and WSU-Vancouver to present information about IT careers to 1,546 middle and high school students in 16 schools. Many thanks to our volunteers and, in particular, to Pradeep Kumar for championing this worthwhile program on behalf of the Chapter. The full report is available here for your review.

Chapter President's Blog

I'm going to give "the blog thing" a try as a means of communicating to members about items that I hope you find interesting about the chapter or about SIMI, but perhaps not worthy of a formal announcement at our monthly meeting. The blog is open for your feedback, so please provide it! Rumor has it that blogging is actually a gateway technology to tweeting, so stay tuned!
